Harold & Margie,
Sorry for not writing sooner but since we arrived home from out trip with you (May 2010) our lives have been at full speed. We cannot thank you enough for the hospitality and education you both provided during our ASA 103 & 104 classes.
It was a great educational vacation. From the moment we stepped on board the Island Dreamer, you and Margie made us feel at home. Chris especially enjoyed Margie’s cooking. Each morning started with a good breakfast and then right into the hands on education, which was the purpose of our trip.
Not only did we increase our skill level daily, but you made time for us to enjoy the sites, snorkel and even listen to some island music at the Tiki bars. We loved stopping at the different Keys along our journey.
Once home, we went right into sailing season and we felt more confidence with our skills. I raced against Chris last month. We crewed for different captains on Hobie Tigers. We had loads of fun, but I came in second. I don’t mind, it was a learning experience and I hope to beat him next season.
Chris finished the spinnaker for our Hobie 16 and I am attaching a picture. We also have video coming.
Thank you both for a wonderful vacation and an education we will use for a lifetime.

See you at the Sail Boat Show!
"We were fortunate to be aboard the Leopard 44 with Jeff & Jean [on the Pine Island Flotilla]. They constantly were helping us improve our sailing skills. We can't imagine being "on" constantly like they did. It is obvious both of them love what they do." Nancy & Curt Leopard 40 "Rum TumTiger"
“Ann & Bob – Janos and I are glad that we decided to take the course on this vacation. We really enjoyed the experience. We had absolutely no experience prior to sailing. You made us feel very comfortable and welcoming during the whole experience. Thank you so much for a great time and great food!! Can’t wait for ASA 103. Thank you. Nichole & Janos”
Hello Captain Harold,
First of all I wanted to once more thank you VERY much for such a great experience and sailing course.
My wife and I are very happy and pleased with the course and the entire experience.
Thank you once more to you and your wife for a very professional as well as personal experience.

“Pat and I have enjoyed our sail week with Bob and Ann and will recommend “Sailing the Sunset” to anyone who will listen to our ecstatic boat stories. The meals are superb; accommodations spacious for a boat, and private too. Bob and Ann made us feel welcomed and relaxed from start to finish. They truly practice the saying “mi casa es se casa”. As far as sailing skills go, I was able to learn at my own pace, and re-ask the same questions, over and over. As a result, my understanding of the basics has increased, even though it will take a lot more practice to improve my proficiency. The Keys are beautiful and interesting. We spotted dolphins almost everyday. Sometimes they followed alongside the “Selah”. We saw turtles, cormorants, pelicans, and lots and lots of crab pots. One morning, we watched two young men on a crab boat haul up rows of crab pots, empty them, and reset them. I was surprised to see that their faces were completely wrapped with scar-like fabric. Bob said they do this to keep from burning. On Thursday, Pat and I kayaked around Tavernier Key. We heartily recommend that you give it a try. It’s easy, fun, and a great way to examine the mangrove roots up close. Long live the “Selah”!

Greetings Captains Margie and Harold,
We had a fantastic week sailing with you on Island Dreamer in the Florida Key. The lessons, your excellent instructions and sailing knowledge are exceptional. After returning to sail our boat it was surprising how much our sailing skills had improved. The week of instruction, food, company, laughter and stops along the way truly exceeded our expectations.
Have a great Thanksgiving and Happy Sailing,
Monica and Keith
Jeff and Jean,
We had our first solo night passage, although it was unplanned!
We were anchored at Ko Muk (an island between Phuket and Langkawi)......we pulled out just after dark. The wind and waves were crazy...30 kts steady with higher gusts......
Thank you for teaching us ... survival skills...which is what it felt like that night!
Happy New Year, Sean, Cynthia and Brady Privilege 49 Catamaran "Arkuda"
Submitted on 2012/5/24 - ASA 101-103 Certifications Bob & Ann – Indeed, we will always stay in touch. To say that our week with you on “Selah” was extraordinary and life-changing might be an understatement. We can’t stop talking about it, to friends, to family and to each other!
I don't believe we could have asked for better captains. What a terrific partnership and your knowledge and patience with the boys (and the parents!) was truly appreciated. The memories you left us will be
forever cherished. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you for the best sailing week. Your patience and knowledge was very appreciated. I have learned so many new things this week and loved listening to both of your lifestyles and experiences. You are living what most people can only dream about. You were both so kind to us - you
are truly amazing! I am so thankful for this experience and feel so blessed to have had you both for our captains. We could not have asked for a better trip!!! Thank you!!!
Your ability to educate and teach is incredible. Thank you for a lifelong memory . . .Again, thank you for the great adventure last week. We all had a great time and spent the entire return flight talking about our adventure. It really was an experience we will never forget.
